Honeycomb structure: softens the light and keeps your privacy.
- Softened light
- Privacy kept
- The air trapped in the cells already insulates
Why the window is the cold spot of the room, and how a Cocoon Cell® honeycomb blind keeps the warmth in during winter and holds the heat back in summer. No building work.

Even good double glazing is still the least insulating part of a wall. At night, the air in the room touches the cold glass, cools down, drops to the floor… and you feel a cold draught near the window.
Air that doesn’t move is an excellent insulator: it’s the principle behind a puffer jacket and double glazing. Each honeycomb cell in a Stoorz traps a layer of air, and the blind creates a second layer of air against the glass.
In the Cocoon Cell® version, a thin thermal layer lines the inside of the cells. It blocks the light and limits heat exchange between the glass and the room, in both directions.
All our blinds have a honeycomb structure: each cell traps air, like double glazing made of fabric.
Honeycomb structure: softens the light and keeps your privacy.

Thermal blackout: honeycomb + thermal layer. Blocks the light, keeps the warmth in during winter and holds the heat back in summer.
Close your blind as soon as the sun goes down. The warmth of the room stays inside instead of escaping through the glass, the cold-wall feeling disappears and the window stops being a source of draughts.
During the day, open it on the sunny side to enjoy free warmth from the sun.
In the hottest hours, keep the blind closed on the sunny side: the thermal layer sends part of the heat back towards the glass before it gets into the room. At night, open it to let the room cool down.
The closer the blind is to the glass and the better it matches the size of the window, the more closed the layer of air. That’s why every Stoorz is made to the measurements of its window and sticks to the top of the window frame, as close to the glass as possible, without tools.
Replacing your windows with triple glazing is expensive, involves building work and often the landlord’s consent. A thermal blind is added to your existing window, with no building work and no drilling.
When closed, it adds an extra insulating layer in front of your glazing. Our laboratory measurements will show the exact gain compared with different types of glazing: the results will be published here.
Renters, older homes with single or double glazing, north-facing bedrooms, large glazed doors: anywhere the window is the cold spot of the room and replacing everything isn’t an option.
Measured performance figures (thermal resistance, gain compared with glazing) will be published after our laboratory tests.
Yes: its honeycomb structure already traps air. The Cocoon Cell® version adds a dedicated layer, for a stronger effect and full blackout.
No: during the day, let the sun in, it heats for free. Close the blind at nightfall to keep the warmth in.
It depends on your window, your home and your heating. We will publish our measurement results as soon as they are available, rather than put forward a figure at random.
