Install an eSIM on Android (Samsung, Pixel, Xiaomi)
On Android, the principle is the same as on iPhone — only the path in the settings changes depending on the brand. Compatibility: Galaxy S20+, Pixel 3+, and most recent models (universal test: dial *#06#, if an EID appears, it's good).
Samsung (One UI)
- Settings → Connections → SIM Manager → Add eSIM.
- Scan the QR code received by email → Add.
- In SIM Manager: mobile data → select the Toukan eSIM.
Google Pixel
- Settings → Network & Internet → SIMs → Add eSIM.
- Scan the QR code → Download.
- Activate the line and designate it for mobile data.
Xiaomi / others
Settings → SIM cards & mobile networks → Manage eSIM → Add. If the option doesn't appear, your model is probably not eSIM compatible (common on entry-level Xiaomi/POCO — check with *#06#).
The setting everyone forgets
Activate data roaming on the eSIM line — not on your French line. This is mandatory for all travel eSIMs and costs nothing extra: the plan is pre-paid. "No network upon arrival" = 9 times out of 10, this setting.
And keep your French SIM active for calls and SMS: the two lines coexist very well.
